Foreign exchange reserves of Turkish CB decreases to 73.4 billion USD

Foreign exchange reserves of Turkish Central Bank reduced to 73.4 billion USD on May 9th, the bank said on Thursday.

The reserves were 74 billion USD on May 2nd.

In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank said its total gross reserves (foreign currency plus gold) reduced to 123.1 billion USD on May 2nd. They were around 125.2 billion USD on April 25th.

Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 446 million USD of foreign debt between May 1st and 14th.

Turkey paid back 19.3 billion USD of foreign debt in 2007, and the foreign debt Turkey has repaid since the beginning of 2008 amounted to 7.5 billion USD.
