The anti-government Kanal Turk TV was sold to a pro-government media group.

Kanal Turk came under fire recently for receiving unaccounted funds from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).

The TV stationed owned by Tuncay Ozkan was outspoken in its criticism of the Erdogan government.

Kanal Turk was bought by the Ipek-Koza Holding which owns daily Bugun. The group owned by businessman Akin Ipek runs a gold mine in Turkey.
