Turkish Cypriot president meets Greek Cypriot opposition leader

Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat said the Turkish Cypriots expected to improve relations with the Greek Cypriots and their administration to reach a solution as soon as possible.

Talat met Nikos Anastasiadis, chairman of the Greek Cypriot main opposition Democratic Rally Party, over dinner at the Greek politician's house in Limmasol.

Anastasiadis expressed his hope that the current contacts between Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias would yield results.

Talat said that comprehensive talks would begin in June.

The rapprochement between Ankara and the Iraqi Kurds seems to have clipped the wins of the PKK terrorist organization. The PKK is still trying to show it will prevail but they have to realize that this is now a losing game.
