A roadside land-mine planted by the terrorist organization PKK went off, killing three people injuring three others in a minibus, in Batman.

The blast occurred in Sason town as the minibus carrying villagers was passing by. The minibus was also carrying the village guards.

Batman Governor Recep Kizilcik said that it was a remote-control bomb which targeted the minibus. Kizilcik also said that they have sent a helicopter to the scene of the blast.

Land mine explosions are common in the southeast region, where PKK commonly use them to attack Turkish military targets. Turkey says it has not planted mines since 1998. PKK terrorists often plant mines on dirt roads used by military troops and also attack army patrols with remote-controlled roadside bombs.

The PKK is considered a terrorist group by Turkey, the US and the European Union.
