Turkish jets defy Barzani, fly over northern Iraq

| Font Size: default medium large Turkish jets flew special missions over northern Iraq on Wednesday to harass the PKK militants holed up in the region.
The Turkish patrols over northern Iraq came a day after Iraqi Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani said the patience of the Kurds is running out becasue of the Turkish raids.
The jets did not bomb any areas but flew over suspected PKK hideouts, military sources said.
Turkey has launched at least four raids bombing PKK targets in the past few months.
Meanwhile, Turkish military units continued operations against terrorist organization PKK in southeastern Turkey, mainly in Cudi and Kupeli regions of Sirnak province.
A terrorist surrendered to security forces in Cukurca town of southeastern province of Hakkari. The terrorist was a member of PKK for three years and surrendered unarmed to the Turkish battalion in Cukurca.
