Geoff Morrell, the press secretary of Pentagon (U.S. Department of Defense), said Tuesday the United States sees Turkey's air strikes against the terrorist organization PKK targets in north of Iraq as legitimate defense.

The U.S. position on these air strikes has not changed, Morrell told a daily press briefing.

Morrell said the United States has full belief that Turkey will continue to behave responsibly when dealing with this threat and will be in coordination and solidarity with itself.

On the other hand, Morrell said he thinks U.S. and Turkish defense ministers are planning to have a bilateral meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania during a NATO meeting; regarding the recent air strikes on the terrorist organization PKK targets in north of Iraq.
