 Canaries ready to taste victory while Lions and Eagles plan to carry on with victories

| Font Size: default medium large The Turkcell Super Lig will continue this weekend with its 2nd round after surprizes in the firts round match last week.
The defending champions Fenerbahce Canaries will play against Gaziantepspor at Istanbul's Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Saturday night after handing ?stanbul Buyuksehir Belediye Spor their first time victory in the Turkcell Super Lig. The Canaries will look for a victory in front of 50 thousand Fenerbahce fans, after their 2-0 defeat last week. On the other side, Gaziantepspor last week beat Istanbul's Kasimpasaspor 2-0 in their opening match of the league.
After last weeks match Canaries Brazilian coach Zico stated that he was totally dissatisfied with the performance of the team.
"Unfortunately we could not make the good start like we had wanted. I am saying this because of the dissatisfaying performance of my players," said Zico "It seemed like we did not fight to get the 3 points. Istanbul Büyüksehir Belediyespor did everything a team should do in order to win. We could not reflect our passion on the pitch.'
'Today Alex was missing and we totally felt his absence. But great clubs should not depend on certain players. Today the footballers played unwillingly but we should be concentrated on victories. We should fight to win the games.'
Second runer up Besiktas Black Eagles will take on Istanbul's Kasimpasaspor on Sunday night, in the last match of the week. Last week the Black Eagles beat Konyaspor 1-0 and Kasimpa?a lost to Gaziantep 2-0 away.
Thanks to a 37th minute goal by Brazilian Bobo, the Black Eagles grabbed a 1-0 victory in fron of the devoted fans who showed great interest in the game and supported their team throughout the game wholeheartedly.
During the press conference after the game, Black Eagles new coach Ertugrul Saglam said he was pleased to start the season without any loss of points.
"We kicked off the new season without any loss of points and we are pleased to get 3 points with a promising performance," said coach Saglam. "However we wasted a lot of good scoring chances. We were not successful on finishing touches which we have to work on. Since we couldn't put the game away with an insurance goal, we faced difficult times at the end of the game.
The most meaningful goal of the first round came from the third runner up pf last season, Galatasaray Lions. Lions legendary striker Hakan Sukur equaled the record of Tanju Çolak with 240 goals including the two goals Sukur scored at the game against Çaykur Rizespor. Besides, Hakan increased the number of goals he scored as a Galatasaray player to 219 and broke the record of Metin Oktay's with 217 goals.
Galatasaray's new Brazilian star Lincoln was remarkable with his football and his passes at his first official game and scored a great goal.
Star player's performance caused the comments among the fans: "if he continues playing like this, we will become the champion."
The Lions are now on top of the league standings after starting the League season in style thrashing Rizespor four nil on Sunday The Lions will take on the Bursaspor Crocodiles away at Bursa's Ataturk Stadiukm on Saturday. Bursaspor started the season with a nill all draw against Denizlispor last week.
Unfortunately, the leagues first week witnessed an unpleasent match where violence was seen. Fans entered the pitch in the match played between Trabzonspor Black Sea Strom and Sivasspor at Trabzon Avni Aker Stadium. This week The Black Sea Storm will take on newcomer OFTAS in Ankara, in the first match of the second round on Friday.
Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch, causing the match to be abandoned. The Turkish Football Federation will meet to decide the result of the game and the penalty to be imposed on Trabzonspor.This week Trabzonspor will take on newcomer OFTAS in the first match of the week.
Other matches are: Konyaspor - Kayserispor, V.Manisaspor - Ankaraspor, Ankaragucu - Denizlispor, C.Rizespor - Genclerbirligi and Sivasspor - ?stanbul B.S.B..
