10th International Istanbul Biennial, organized by Istanbul Culture & Arts Foundation (IKSV), will be held between September 8th and November 4th.

The biennial, with its conceptual framework "not only impossible, but also necessary - optimism in the age of global war", will be held under the curatorship of Chinese arts critic Hou Hanru.

"The biennial will not be a thematic exhibition in the traditional manner. It will rather emphasize artistic production based on collective intelligence and the living process of negotiating with physical sites," said organizers of the event.

96 artists or groups will exhibit over 150 projects in the city.
