| Font Size: default medium large Polinas Packaging co. --the biggest polypropylene producer of Turkey-- says the "Biodegradable" packaging material it produced attracted wide interest in England.
Akif Atabay, Polinas General Director indicated on Thursday there were research studies being carried out world wide to eliminate the harms made to the environment by the packaging materials that do not decompose even in a 100 years.
Stating that they developed a polypropylene packaging film within the framework of their R & D programme, Atabay said the packaging material they named 'poligreen', decomposed in two years time by the help of microorganisms, and transformed into carbondioxide and bio-mass.
Noting that their company emerged as one of the pioneers in this sector Atabay reminded that in the US and the EU new bills were under preparation to make the use of bio-degradable packaging materials mandatory.
Stressing that a big potential market would emerge if the said bills were adopted Atabay said, "we have promoted our company in England, the leading country in nature friendly technology, with fairs. Giant chain markets of the UK like Tesco and Asda and packaging companies, are genuinely interested in our products." Go Back | |
